| ftomstark | Comet Boeing P-26 | Parked | 17-Apr-10 14:32 | | | Views : 2520 | | I wanted to fly it but glide test indicate the the horozontal tail is too small, it won't trim for a stable glide. Perhaps if the wing were more scale, ie 3 inches shorter, it would be stable but thee it wouldn't be a 1936 Comet model. That could be a future project, howerve. |

| ftomstark | Comet Boeing P-26 | Build | 17-Apr-10 14:09 | | | Views : 1217 | | In checking against scale data the wing is about 3 inches longer than it should be. I suspect the Comet made that dimension accurate the model would be too large for the 10 cent model fleet which generally had a 16 inch wingspan. |
| Dale1416 | Guillows Series 2000 - B-29 Super Fortress | Reference | 17-Apr-10 14:06 | | | Views : 5367 | | A reprint of an old snapshot taken in the mid 1940's with the first B-29 I built. This was a stick and tissue construction with solid balsa engines. I believe it was a "Cleveland" kit. In those days, most of the model airplanes I built were "Comet" kits. |
| ftomstark | Comet Boeing P-26 | Parked | 17-Apr-10 14:05 | | | Views : 1214 | | As near as I can remember this was the first model airplane kit I ever tried to build, probably in 1939. I didn't finish it but I did cut myself on the split double edge razor blade used then to cut out the parts. |
