This little plane went together pretty quick, I built it per the plans so that made it easy. It is a typical Comet kit with lack of instruction, leaving some building up to the imagination. I added the motor mount that is not on the plans, also added a functioning nose block. Comet does not have much detail about the nose block area. The nose former has 2 slots on each side for side stringers but the plans do not show where these stringers go. I remember building this kit when I was younger and being told it has side stringers, besides I don't think Mustangs have a flat side. The landing gear will once again be plug in gear so I can fly without the landing gear. All stringers that have curves were soaked in water and then pre bent before gluing into place. This guarantees the fuselage will not warp. So far the weight is 10 grams.

The papering is finished and the wing is tacked on to check pit. The canopy is being checked for fit; the blue on the canopy is a protective covering that will be removed before painting. The suplied vacu spinner is useful for flying but useless for display. \i fashioned this one from wood, which was a days project by itself.

The armor plate headrest is madeout of 10 thousands plastic sheet and painted Tamiya green. The radio has been painted gloss black getting ready for a scrap decal from the decal scrap box.

This is the balsa former I carved and glued to the inside of the oil cooler housing to provide a base to which to glue the intake. Afte which sanding is required to smooth the fit.

Enough! I think the bottom of the wing is finished and ready for covering. I'll sand and shape the stabilizer tomorrow morning when it's human friendly outside again.
