a $2 investment at the recyling centre got an old flexible lamp stand. Put a screw in socket in the belly of the P-40 and we have the makings of a desk stand that can be easily adjusted to put the model in any attitude. Needs some refinement but the principle works okay. Have also made a plug cover for the socket in case the model is displayed without the stand.

The driver's hatches each have a "bump" toward their backs, I think to allow the driver a bit more headroom. I replicated that again with many layers of white glue.

I had drilled holes anticipating using furniture plugs for the armored fuel caps. Instead I went with the brads, so I had to fill the holes. The fuel caps include the metal brad, two short pieces of 1/16" dowel and two strips of paper. Once assembled, each cap was coated with white glue to blend all the parts,
