| Always the last thing to do is the underside of the wing. I wanted to assemble this section before I attached the wing but had too much trouble with alignment. The smear is acrylic with a light overcoat of sanding sealer. Not a good thing. |

| More of the engine deck. This deck shows that this model represents an M4-A2 diesel powered tank. Most diesel tanks were shipped to our allies, but the Marines used them at Tarawa and Okinowa. This one will be a Marine tank. |

| Detail of the driver's hatch showing the periscope, hinge and spring. The spring is thin wire wrapped around a pin. Each hatch has 8 parts in addition to white glue to create the "bump" to allow headroom for the driver. Materials are solder, basswood, card stock, dowells and wire. |
