I decided the 5" prop may be too large for the direct drive motor and switched it out for a 4" prop. It is identical to the prop that put the One Nite 28 into the top of a tree, so it should be good enough for this bird.

If a little glue squeezes out. I dampen a q tip and clean up the excess.

First I test fit the fillet, looks ok. Remember the wood gusset is already glued in place prior to adding the fillets.
