Rat pilots did not like the sliding canopy...it fogged. The front sliding canopy was removed and they flew with only a wind screen.

The new part is nearly half the weight of the heavy kit part, but is still 50% heavier than the lighter kit part. Goes to show that even Guillow's can have quility wood from time to time.

The piece in the back weighs 0.4 grams, the one in the front weighs 1.1 grams. And that was after I sanded the sheet for several minutes! I don't have any 1/20" sheet stock but I have some 1/32" that is just about the same thickness.

All of the sheet wood weighs 3.8 grams. Two sheets were light, one was VERY heavy.

Perhaps some tweaking before final paint but I think this finish will pass muster...at least I hope it does!
