| The Tyro 100 frame is basically a plywood box surrounded by balsa. But even the balsa sections are quite strong, notice the laminated bracing visible on the inside of the far wall. This gives me confidence that the Tyro will be a durable first flyer. |

| As you can see, I have decided to go ahead and build the MM Tyro 100 and learn to fly with it. I am told the MM Hellcat is a very good flyer but the Tyro will be easier to repair and I won't mind so much if I bang it up. Doculam is the covering of choice. |

| SIG Cub that I threw together today. It should weigh an ounce, but it weighs 1.59 oz due to sheet wood that weighs 40 lbs/cu.ft! Somehwere a guy restoring the roof of a Model A is wondering why he got balsa instead of the ironwood he ordered. |
