| It's about 100' from the runway to those trees so I immediately had to try to turn but ended up going in a circle as I embarked on my "crash course" of learning to fly. I was about to get pushed into those trees so I decided it was time to bring it down. |

| I started getting braver and tried to do brief lifts off the runway but the wind would push me and I'd end up crashing into the grass. Finally I decided it was time to try to get some height, it immediately turned downwind as seen here. |

| Burned up one battery (all of 5 minutes) getting the feel of the plane on the ground. Gusts of wind kept tipping it over onto one wing tip and I'd have to run over and set it back upright. |

| Last Saturday it hit 84F, almost the hottest in 50 years. And now April snow on the valley floor. Cold and wet is the forecast, but there is also little wind for the next 3 hours so I might try to sneak out to the field. |
