SBD, LG came in two flavors. This variant is from the mainly land based Marine, yellow, version. Though it will have a tail hook, and could land at sea on a carrier, it had a larger pneumatic tail wheel and distinct fairing thingy. Carrier based planes had a different fairing and a small solid rubber wheel.

Here's a couple video's. The second one is pretty funny. After a few flights (the one in the morning), the dizzyness was REALLY catching up with Jimmy! He really should be watching the plane!

It worked! YAHOO! This was at eleven p.m. I HAD to give it a try. I could only pay out around 10-15 ft I guess (I only hit the tree twice, or was that three, times!) because the larger area we fly in was pitch dark as there was no moon out.

Spent Presidents Day weekend at my Dad's so instead of schlepping all my stuff for my complicated builds, I decided to enjoy myself and build something fun and "Simple". This is my first "Swinger" ala Simpleflyer. My son is currently fascinated with with the IL-2 Sturmovic. Hence the choice of aircraft.
