| well - sometimes when things seem to go wrong they end up all right. those coamings look just right.
I used the rolled silkspan trick a time or two and thought I recognized it here. |

| That's a good idea about the combing, but I modeled those into the cockpit covers when I created the 3D models. I can get a lot of detail in the 3D print. But I think what makes the difference is that I used a Leather colored acrylic that didn't cover that well and left a bunch of brush strokes. Then used a dark brown acrylic wash that settled into the stokes, giving it a folded appearance. |

| did you use tightly rolled silkspan/tissue to make those cockpit coamings? A little white glue and water mixture and then a brown 'leather' paint?
Tremendous details Ed - just a top drawer effort all around.
