Cut covering strips (a scale 5 inches wide). I tried both SIlkspan from Brodak and some domestic tissue (left over from a Guillows kit that I never finished): the Guillows tissue worked better.,

Glued the strips onto the wing over the wings. THis where I decided that using 20# (or lighter) paper would have worked better.

OK, now the lines on the front of the board come into play. Using the Olfa cutter and straight-edge, I sliced the paper and string into 3/32" strips.

Even though I struck out on my quest for Nitrate dope in SF, I did find this pure cotton 3/0 machine thread. It is supposed to absorb aliphatic glue better than other (rayon) threads.

Next, laid some 50# bond paper over the parchament. I think that next time I will use standard 20# paper. Can you see where I'm heading?
