Phil: The piece is actually 11/16" wide...you have a good eye! You can see how it curves. Here's planking on the fuselage, infill on the wing, and sheeting in between. These rear panels look tricky but are actually fairly flat.

This framework is made of hard 3/32" stringers and will support the 1/16" sheeting. A 1/16" stringer (red) is glued 1/16" below the top and bottom edges of the wing root rib to support the sheeting.

I added 7 stringers of 1/16" wood to the top and bottom of the wings for the infill and braces between the wing and fuselage as I will be handling the wings quite a bit. I would have preferred to use 3/32" stringers but the ones in my stash are hard and difficult to sand.
