The "notcher" is a strip of sandpaper glued to a piece of plywood. It's an old method but it works perfectly and is especially helpful on small pieces like these.

All Diels kits are 1/24 scale which will match this Diels F-100. They're known as "builders kits" and I still haven't built the landing gear for the Hun.....The Dornier 335 in my hanger is also a Diels kit.
