I believe it was Travis that told his men that they could leave the surrounded building, if they wanted. All except one said they would stay. The one man who wanted to leave was named Rose. Coach Parker said one of his students, a football player looking for an easy grade (impossible in Coach's class) raised his hand and asked, "Was he the 'yellow rose of Texas?'" |
