David Duckett | Guillows Series 2000 - B17 Flying Fortress | Parked | 24-Aug-09 21:17 | | Views : 7780 | In 2002 I was comissioned to build this second B-17 for an exhibit at the Reagan Library about World War II and this is painted as the Memphis Belle. Looking at it now, it's not my best effort and although I tucked these photos in a build somewhre, I hope you don't mind me adding them into their proper places. The planes are still there in the office of the historian. |
David Duckett | Dave Diels Engineering, Inc Kit #23, Grumman F7F-3 Tigercat | Build | 23-Aug-09 17:34 | | Views : 977 | 2 scoops, please. I put filler into the scoop and used the rounded end of a small paint brush to round the contact area. Any further refinements will be done when covering and painting. 5 cents, please. |

David Duckett | Dave Diels Engineering, Inc Kit #23, Grumman F7F-3 Tigercat | Build | 23-Aug-09 17:24 | | Views : 951 | Using tracing paper, I traced the scoop outline and then turned the paper over and traced it onto harder 3/32" stock with a pen. Remove the paper and outline the pattern with the pen. The rounded tip of the pen and a small amout of pressure "cuts" the outline into the wood which makes removal of the center wood easier. |
