Lower air foil and Interplane struts are permanently attached. The aroma of epoxy molecules drift upward from the basement shop and mingle with those from the kitchen oven. Always a highlight with the "Wuffy!"

There is a lot going on between the wings. Wind screen, Vickers gun, ammo intake and exhaust, petrol cap, cabane struts and the soon to be installed aileron control rods. Forward visibility must have been compromised.

British Foster mount gets the nod. Unlike the static French mount, the Foster permitted the pilot to lower the gun on a curved rail. The permitted an easy reload and the opportunity of shooting up if you were under the belly of the opposing aircraft.
